This week Scottish Labour unveiled plans to extend free bus travel to under 25-year-olds.
Buses provide a vital service, especially in areas such as Cambuslang where people rely on the bus to take them into Glasgow and to other nearby areas like East Kilbride.
Recent years have seen a reduction in bus journeys as companies have slashed routes while hiking up fares. This isn’t helped by the fact that the SNP government in Holyrood have cut back on the bus service operators grant.
Labour recognises the importance of public transport and wants to build a system that will work for the many.
