Today I questioned the Cabinet Secretary for Social Security and Older People on why the SNP Government’s rhetoric on tackling poverty did not match it’s spending.
A recent report by the Scottish Government’s own Poverty and Inequality Commission highlighted that only 0.4% of the budget is targeted on low-income households.
With this week’s Rutherglen Reformer showing the disgraceful levels of poverty in places like Farmecross and Burnhill we need the Government to take action and bring forward an income supplement.
